Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TRAVEASE NIG. LTD. ("TRAVEASE", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use travease.ng, contact us, or book travel services with us. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).

1. Who we are

TRAVEASE NIG. LTD. is a travel booking and travel-assistance company registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 9883713). Our office is at Uyeh Haven Estate, Off Ring Road 3, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected] or call +234 805 055 5278.

2. The personal data we collect

  • Contact details: your name, phone number, WhatsApp number and email address.
  • Trip details: where and when you want to travel, number of travellers, hotel and car-hire preferences, and any notes you give us.
  • Traveller details: names of travellers and, only where an airline, transport operator or hotel requires it, identity details needed to complete the reservation.
  • Payment information: the amount, date, reference and status of your payments. Card payments are processed by Paystack; TRAVEASE does not see or store your card details. If you pay by bank transfer, we record the transfer details needed to confirm it.
  • Communications: messages we send you and messages you send us (SMS, WhatsApp, email, contact forms).
  • Technical data: basic information needed to run and secure the website, such as security cookies and IP addresses used to prevent abuse.

3. Why we use your data, and our lawful basis

  • To arrange the travel services you request, confirm availability and prices, take payment, make reservations and send you your travel details — necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To send you service messages about your booking (confirmations, changes, reminders, refunds) — necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To verify your identity when you look up a booking (one-time codes) and to prevent fraud and abuse — our legitimate interest in keeping your booking and our systems secure.
  • To keep accounting, tax and transaction records — to comply with our legal obligations.
  • To respond to your enquiries, complaints and support requests — necessary to perform our contract or our legitimate interest in serving you.

We do not send marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Who we share your data with

We share only what is necessary, with:

  • Airlines, transport operators, hotels and car-hire partners, to make and manage your reservation.
  • Paystack, to process online payments and refunds.
  • Our messaging and email providers (such as Termii and Resend), to send you SMS, WhatsApp and email messages about your booking.
  • Our secure hosting and database providers, to run the website and store booking records.
  • Government or regulatory authorities, where the law requires us to.

Some of these service providers may store or process data outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted under the NDPA, such as contractual protections, and we only use providers who apply appropriate security measures.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep booking, payment and communication records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, accounting and tax obligations — generally up to six (6) years after your booking. One-time verification codes expire within minutes and are not stored in readable form. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to two (2) years unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

6. How we protect your data

We use encrypted connections, access controls so that only authorised TRAVEASE staff can see booking information, one-time codes to protect online booking access, and audit logs of staff actions. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where the law requires us to after a data breach.

7. Your rights

Under the NDPA you have the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is used;
  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted, where we no longer need it or are not required by law to keep it;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time required by law.

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies: one keeps staff signed in to our operations console, and one keeps your booking page open for a short time after you verify it with a one-time code. We do not use advertising cookies.

10. Children

Our services are booked by adults. Where a booking includes children or infants, we collect only the details a provider requires, and only from the adult making the booking.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
